Laser Eye Institute (LEI) is one of the leading corrective vision institutes in the USA and it’s right in your backyard! In fact, in 2021, Dr. Haddad was ranked as the #1 SMILE surgeon in the entire country. Who better to trust with your vision?
We’re committed to treating each patient like an individual, bringing our full attention and decades of expertise to bear for each patient. Everyone who enters Laser Eye Institute’s door will receive a custom mode of vision correction that considers each person’s occupation and lifestyle needs. LEI will never compromise a patient’s well-being for any reason and uses the most advanced diagnostic and laser technology to ensure the best outcomes possible. All of this is carried out by our amazing team who has decades of training and decades more of experience in vision correction.
Laser Eye Institute has three different treatments (LASIK, SMILE, and PRK) as well as tree unique laser systems (Visumax, MEL80, EX500) available to best treat each patient according to their needs
Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis is one of the most popular corrective vision procedures because of its simplicity. With LASIK, a thin flap of the outer layer of the cornea is temporarily removed to expose the tissue underneath. Once the flap is peeled back, a laser reshapes the cornea in a process called ablation. LEI only uses the bladeless version of LASIK to promote a shorter recovery time. The whole surgery takes around 15 minutes and patients are normally able to return to daily activities the next day.
Small Incision Lenticule Extraction is the latest generation of corrective vision procedures that is even less invasive than LASIK. Instead of creating a flap on the cornea, Dr. Dan Haddad uses the laser to cut a small disk-like section of the cornea (called the lenticule) without creating any flaps. Then a microscopic incision is made to remove the small lenticule. This method is significantly less invasive compared to LASIK. SMILE has the shortest recovery time of all the different corrective procedures and only takes around five minutes per eye to complete.
Photorefractive Keratectomy is an incision-less corrective vision procedure. PRK starts with chemically removing the epithelial cells (outer layer) of the cornea with an aqueous solution. The solution is localized to the cornea to prevent damage to the rest of the eye. Once this layer of epithelial cells comes free, a laser is used to reshape the surface of the eye to improve vision. Since the outer layer of the cornea has been removed, a contact lens bandage is applied to the eye to promote healing. While PRK is the least invasive of the three surgeries, it also paradoxically has the longest recovery period
In everything we do, Laser Eye Institute is marked by our uncompromising commitment to excellence and patient satisfaction. From the moment our patients walk into LEI, they can feel the difference. LEI has three different laser platforms which helps us fit the treatment to you rather than making you fit to the treatment. The other aspects of our care are also similarly patient-oriented. Laser Eye Institute doesn’t charge for extras or add-ons–our focus is entirely on the patient’s well-being.
